Courses we run at the centre
The Rutland Falconry and Owl Centre is able to offer you the opportunity to experience a range of different interactive, age appropriate courses which very in content and duration.
Numbers will, by the very nature of the 'hands on' experience , be restricted and may be dependant upon prevailing weather conditions.
Pre booking is required.
Owl or Hawk Walks
An exceptional 'hands on' experience, where you are able to sample falconry for yourself with instruction from our resident falconer.
The duration of the Owl or Hawk walk may easily be incorporated into your visit.
Introductory Hands On Day or Half Day Course
An unforgettable experience where the programmes have been specifically designed for those wishing to experience the opportunity to handle and fly a variety of different birds of prey to the glove.
Suitable for a variety of ages and abilities from the novice to those more experienced in falconry.
The programme for th day has been specifically designed for those who wish to experience being closer to the birds of prey.
These are experiences you will never forget!
Pre-course bookings are essential and avoid disappointment.
While we make every effort to accommodate your preferred date, participation on courses must be taken up within six months of receipt of your application form.
Course members may be accompanied by one fee paying adult by prior arrangement. (photographic restrictions apply).
Lunchtime options may also be arranged on your behalf should you wish.
Containing most aspects of the full day, but you are less likely to get as much experience in actually flying the birds of prey in the half day course ask on the contact number for more details.

We are open to discussion on how you may want to theme your event with plenty of scope to add activities which will make your day a memorable one.

Corporate events in the great outdoors
The Rutland Falconry and Owl Centre is home to a superb collection of over 130 birds of prey, should you wish we are able to offer your party a guided tour of the centre where there is the opportunity to interact with or hold birds of prey. Weather permitting we may be able to arrange an exclusive, interactive bird of prey flying display for your party.
The woodland is home to an abundance of wildlife and incorporates peaceful woodland walks or trails which mat be explored at your lesiure.
Rutland Falconry and Owl Centre offers enormous scope to accommodate additional Team Building events of your own design. Have you considered building an aviary? Constructing a hide? Why not dig a pond or develop your own conservation project over time in the extensive woodland at Burley Bushes. We will consier all appropriate suggestions.
We are able to organise refreshments during your stay. Should weather conditions prove unsettled we have a covered area which may be made available to you should you wish.
Perhaps you would prefer your party to sit around the evening campfire in a woodland clearing - taking shelter in a North American Lodge listening to the woods come to life with the sounds of the night. Build your own campfire? Erect your own Lodge?
In a unique setting your time at Rutland Falconry and Owl Centre will prove to be an excellent team building experience where group interaction offers additional extensive photographic expriences.
Please talk to us in advance about your Group's aims and objectives. We may be able to suggest/organise some unexpected additions which would serve to add to the success and enjoyment of you event making your visit a truly memorable experience.
